Deborah Arnold is vice president and managing director for emerging markets at Visa International. She is responsible for strategy and communications related to developing country solutions working with Visa’s regional offices, vendors, and technology partners. Ms. Arnold is also responsible for overall strategic communications in Visa's global consumer products group.
While at Visa, she lead the global effort for smart card migration. She was also the global project manager for Visa Horizon, Visa’s smart card product aimed at developing markets, and had overall responsibility for designing the new chip service, identifying market opportunities, and implementing the product in Russia and Ghana before global rollout.
Prior to joining Visa, Ms. Arnold spent 13 years in various capacities in the telecommunications industry with two of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, GTE (Verizon) and MCI. She also helped introduce ATMs to California through her earlier work at Bank of America and Crocker Bank. Ms. Arnold holds a degree, cum laude, in French and Spanish from Duke University and a certificate in French from the Universite de Lausanne in Switzerland. She is currently representing Visa at the NFC Forum, has served as a board advisor to Women in Technology International (WITI) and represented Visa on the Business Committee of GlobalPlatform.
